There's a reason this one is rare. When adidas presented their home design to the AFA ahead of USA 94, federation president Julio Grondona stopped production in its tracks. The sky blue and white was never the problem, that's tradition. It was the black outlining the stripes that broke the rules: the AFA mandated sky blue and white only on the home shirt, no other colours allowed. Black was a step too far, and the design was rejected.
Which makes this a piece of football history that almost never existed. The classic Argentina hoops, the AFA crest, the unmistakable mid-90s adidas cut, carrying the story of the kit the federation refused to approve. This is the era of Batistuta, Redondo and Caniggia, one of the most romanticised generations Argentina ever produced.
For the collector who wants something with a story behind it, this is hard to beat. On the wall or on your back, it carries weight.
Size L. One shirt, when it's gone, it's gone.
