Vintage shirts need a little more care than modern ones. Follow these steps to keep yours in great condition.

01 Hand wash in cool water for best preservation, or machine wash at 30°C on a gentle cycle
02 Turn inside out before washing to protect prints and badges
03 Air dry flat or on a hanger, never tumble dry
04 Do not bleach
05 Iron on low heat if needed, avoid ironing directly over badges or prints
06 Store folded or hung, avoid cramped spaces that cause creasing

Shirts from the 80s and 90s may have more delicate fabrics. When in doubt, hand wash cold and air dry.

Want the full routine? Read our guide on how to wash vintage football shirts for step-by-step hand-washing tips and print care.

Almost every shirt we sell is unique, a single original from a specific era, carrying the cut of its time. As a general guide, vintage shirts run a little larger and boxier than modern ones.

Our decade-by-decade fit guide shows roughly what each size measured in every era
1990s shirts often fit a full size larger than modern; by the 2010s the cut sits close to true to size
